When some of the groups had problems connecting the rover engines to the iPad or questions about programming, students from other groups helped them so everyone could participate in the race. When the rovers were ready, the groups had a race to see whose rover went the fastest. On Tuesday, the students worked together in groups to build their rovers and help each other program the rovers. This week, our class familiarized themselves with the Lego kits and got to know each other better by working in different groups every day. This week, and over the course of this class, students will be given new design challenges to attempt every one or two days, such as building and programming their robots to drive to one end of the room and back, or picking up plastic balls and collecting them. Indeed, the instructions are well-explained and the construction is easy. We like the game because it stimulates children’s creativity who, first and foremost, are focused on the construction of their robots, which will later on execute orders through the ability to code. The application also allows children to create programs so that will be used by their creations to perform precise written actions provided in the code, via the Bluetooth connection. It is free to download and available on either a tablet or PC. Instructions and information on how to do it are provided in the application. Wedo 2.0 helps its users to assemble different components to create a real robot with a motor and sensors. Lego Wedo 2.0 kit is developed by Lego Education and provides children with tools to learn about engineering, technology, coding and robotics in an interactive and fun way.
